A flexible PC-based physiological monitor
نویسندگان
چکیده
We have developed a flexible physiological monitoring and analysis system for physiological studies in which data are obtained over extended periods. Our system uses low-cost personal computer hardware to concentrate data from existing multiple monitoring devices. All monitored parameters are displayed on a single screen and recorded in a single file. The system automates the process of physiological record keeping by providing continuous displays of vital signs. In addition, audible and visual alarms are produced when vital signs are outside of acceptable ranges, prompting the experimenter to take corrective actions. The central element of the system is a program running in a dedicated manner on an IBM PC compatible computer. The program is written in C and makes use of a graphics library to display traces and analysis results in real time on any standard display for the PC. This program assigns the analog channels of an G. Ghose, I. Ohzawa, & R. Freeman --PC-based Physiologial Monitoring System J. Neurosci. Methods (1995) (in press) 2 A/D board to particular physiological parameters by initially reading a configuration file, which also describes the alarm conditions and analysis routine for each parameter. All hardware specific code is isolated into well defined modules. The program is both highly flexible with regard to different sets of parameters and highly portable for different experimental and computer environments.

A .Net Framework Approach for a Network Monitoring Tool
Tools that monitor the performance of a PC are an essential part of today’s quality control of the computer systems. Such resources needed to be monitored are the Memory, the CPU, the Power Consumption and the Network. Network Monitoring tools aim to audit and keep track of certain parameters to ensure the network’s efficiency and to provide information that will assist in the network analysis....
متن کاملMeasurement of combined oximetry and cutaneous capnography during flexible bronchoscopy.
The aim of the present study was to assess the feasibility of measuring combined arterial oxygen saturation measured by pulse oximetry (Sp,O2) and cutaneous carbon dioxide tension (Pc,CO2) to monitor ventilation and quantify change in Pc,CO2 during bronchoscopy. Combined Sp,O2 and Pc,CO2 were measured at the ear lobe in 114 patients. In four patients, the ear-clip slipped and they were excluded...

This paper, presents a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for monitoring patient’s physiological conditions continuously using Zigbee. Here the physiological conditions of the patient's are monitored by sensors and the output of these sensors is transmitted via Zigbee and the same has to be sent to the remote wireless monitor for acquiring the observed patient’s physiological signal. The remote wire...

In this paper, a FPGA based system for real-time video processing is proposed. In this system, real-time video was obtained though a digital camera and video/image processing algorithms were implemented on FPGA hardware. The original image frames and processed video can be displayed simultaneously on the screen of a PC, acting as a system monitor. It is a flexible and easily implemented system,...

The research paper, presents a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for monitoring a patient’s physiological conditions continuously using Zigbee. In the experiment 3 groups of persons were made to undergo the test. Person A was in the age group of 1-10 years. Person B was in the age group of 11-30 years and person C was in the age group of 31-80 years. Physiological conditions of these 3 groups of pe...
